Earthrise Camping started in 2025 when we got fed up with the tent waste problem reported at festivals. You know the scene, Sunday evening, campsites littered with abandoned tents that’ll go straight to landfill. We kept thinking there had to be a better way.

So, the more we looked into it, the more insane the whole thing seemed. Around 250,000 tents get ditched at UK festivals every year. Most of them are barely used and could easily handle several more adventures. This is happening as people are struggling to get decent camping gear to festivals without breaking the bank or struggling to find a place to store it, once they’ve finished with it for the year.

That’s when it clicked – what if we could provide a tent hire that solved everyone’s budget and storage headaches, whilst tackling the tent waste problem. So, we created the UK’s first fully circular tent hire service!

What We’re About

We’re based in Hertfordshire and we’re on a mission to make camping gear accessible without all the usual faff. No massive upfront costs, no storage nightmares, no guilt about waste.

Our approach mixes reclaiming tents with smart sourcing. We give quality tents that still have loads of life left in them a second chance and we also work directly with UK outdoor brands to source tents that may have been returned, made obsolete or are in a non-resalable condition. This gives life to tents that would otherwise be recycled.

It’s not rocket science, but it works.

How We Do Things

Every tent that comes through our doors gets properly looked after. We’re talking thorough cleaning, full inspections and any repairs needed to keep them weatherproof and reliable. Some will have been on adventures before, but they’re all tested to make sure they’ll do their job properly. (Unlike that £40 tent from the petrol station).

Our security deposit means you don’t need to stress about accidents or damage. We get that stuff happens when you’re camping, especially at festivals and we’re pretty chill about. With a maximum deposit of £20 per tent that covers almost anything and everything that can go wrong, you won’t be out of pocket, except in the worst case scenario.

Why It Matters

Look, we’re not trying to save the world single-handedly. But every tent we rent is one less heading to landfill and one less new tent that needs manufacturing. Being the first fully circular tent hire in the country, we’re proving there’s a better way to do camping gear.

Plus, we genuinely love that we can help people have brilliant outdoor experiences without the barriers. Whether it’s someone’s first festival or their fifteenth camping trip, everyone deserves kit they can rely on.

The Team

We’re a small team who actually use the gear we rent out. We get the difference between a tent that looks fine online and one that’ll actually keep you dry in a proper British downpour.

We’re based in Hertfordshire, delivering across the UK. We’ve started small in 2025 but are growing steadily as more people discover there’s a better way to do camping gear.
