How To Get Glastonbury Tickets
Your Battle Plan
Warning, reality check incoming:
It’s difficult and that is putting it mildly! Every festival there are roughly 142,000 tickets that are available to the general public. A further 60,000 tickets are usually offered to performers, vendors, and other essential staff, with the remainder are offered to locals in the surrounding area (usually for entrance on the last day only). Tickets usually sell out in minutes during the November ticket sale, to the approximately two and half million people who signed up during the October registration period.
2025 saw all tickets sold out in 35 minutes, despite a new queuing system put in place to make it fairer for people. Your chances are slim, BUT you have to be in it to win it they say.
What’s My Best Chance Of Getting A Ticket Then?
Not to worry, we’re here to help you try and get your hands on those tickets. Whilst we can’t magic up extra tickets or bypass that queue, we can make sure you’re doing everything possible to maximize your chances when that sale goes live. And this guide gives you the best possible shot at securing your spot at the world’s most iconic festival.
Step One: Register in advance during the “Registration Phase” in October. Stick a reminder in your calendar or diary now to register if you plan on going. Registration closes in early November. Miss it and it’s game over before you’ve began.
Step Two: Keep an eye out for the ticket release date. Check the Glastonbury website and social media pages regularly for the announcement date. Alternatively, follow us on Instagram & Facebook as we also keep track of festival ticket release dates (we try and help when we can!). However you keep track, once you have that key date, put that reminder in your calendar.
Step Three: Get organised! The key is to have multiple people trying for those elusive tickets. Have a WhatsApp group call with your besties or your mates round for a hearty breakfast, as co-ordination is key. On the day of the sale, you need to jump on the Glastonbury site early around 15-20 minutes before the tickets go live. So make sure you have your registration details to hand and your bank details, including any security questions that might popup, as you might be asked by your card issuer. If it’s morning sale (which it usually is), grab a tea or coffee to calm yourself and just be patient.

The Progress Bar Of Patience!
Step Four: Learn the booking system (before you log on): In 2025 the new queue system meant that everyone who was on the site, when the tickets went live got assigned a random place in the queue. Anybody who joined just after the tickets went live joined the back of this queue. (There is still some debate going on whether this was fair or not). But for Glastonbury 2027 – if they do keep this Do NOT (I repeat) Do NOT refresh the page, let your mobile go to sleep, or try to get tickets on multiple tabs if you’re in the queue. Doing any of these things will confuse the system and you will lose your spot.
Step Five: Stay patient and focused. Once you’re in the queue, a progress bar will show your position and now it’s a waiting game. It’s not over until the SOLD OUT sign appears on the Glastonbury website. So watch that progress bar and be patient. Once one of your group has the tickets, celebrate – you’re going to Glasto!
OK, I Followed Your Guide And That Didn’t Work. Now what?
So, you missed out. You tried the steps above but forgot that inviting that many of your mates over kills your dodgy wi-fi. Or you’ve overslept and missed that WhatsApp group call. In reality it was probably luck that meant you missed out on the first round. (You have roughly an 8% chance of getting a ticket!)
No problem, there are still a couple more ways you can get to Glastonbury.
Wait for the resale period in the Spring: Keep an eye on social media and the Glastonbury website for the coveted resale period. A limited number of tickets are always put back into market, usually because some people choose to pay in instalments and forget to pay up. Hot Tip: definitely don’t be that person!
Volunteer: Look for volunteer opportunities with Oxfam or other charities that are attending the festival. Sure, you’ll have to put some shifts in. However, they allow some down time for their volunteers to go and enjoy themselves.
Your Glastonbury Journey Starts Here
Whether you’ve successfully secured your golden ticket or you’re still planning your strategy for the next sale, remember, getting to Glastonbury is as much about persistence as it is about luck. Every year, thousands of people navigate the chaotic ticket process and come out the other side victorious. There is no reason you can’t be one of them!
The key takeaway from this guide is simple: preparation is everything. Having your registration sorted months in advance, assembling your ticket-hunting gang, understanding the queue system inside-out, and finally, staying calm under pressure (remember don’t refresh the page!). These are all the factors that separate the successful from the disappointed. You can’t control the random queue assignment or the millions of other people trying alongside you, but you can control how ready you are.
Beyond the main ticket sale, remember you’ve got options. The resale gives you a second chance. Volunteering offers a different but equally rewarding way to experience the festival, while contributing something meaningful. Some of the most devoted Glastonbury fans started as volunteers and never looked back.
Most importantly though, stay positive, stay organised, and stay patient. Your Glastonbury moment is out there waiting for you. When it finally happens, you’ll be standing in those legendary fields with your mates, watching the sunset over the Pyramid Stage, and know that every moment of the struggle was worth it.
